GROUP FITNESS CLASSES

INSANITY Live, Desktop Refresh and Athletic Mobility classes can be booked for gyms, studios, conference rooms, schools or outdoors. Read below for class descriptions and email MarklandFitness@gmail.com for pricing and booking.

INSANITY Live

Michael is certified as an INSANITY Live instructor, the in-person version of the popular high intensity home workout program designed by Shaun T.

Class description: You’ve seen it on TV, now try it LIVE! Using the concept of Max Interval Training, INSANITY gets your heart pounding from start to finish. The easy-to-learn moves are inspired by track and field athletes’ training drills. INSANITY will not only incinerate calories but will also improve your speed, agility and overall performance in any other sport you do. This class is totally adaptable to all fitness levels but be warned, you will sweat…a lot!

Duration: Standard duration is 45 minutes. Class can be reduced to 30 minutes or increased to 55 minutes.

Desktop Refresh and Athletic Mobility

Additionally, Michael designed 2 specialized mobility classes that address the key issues facing specific populations – those who sit a lot and those who exercise a lot.

Duration: Standard duration is 45 minutes for both mobility classes. Classes can be modified anywhere between 20 and 60 minutes.

Desktop Refresh

Sitting at a desk all day can cause an array of issues in your body, reducing mobility in some areas while weakening or over-stretching others. The “Desktop Refresh” workout aims to address all of the ailments caused by sitting, such as weak and over-stretched muscles in the upper back, tight muscles in the hips and deactivated core muscles. This no-sweat class starts and ends with a circulation-boosting pose that will leave you feeling strong, mobile and energized. Equipment, attire and intensity are similar to yoga.

Athletic Mobility

Athletes tend to train for speed, endurance and power, but joint mobility is the aspect of fitness often overlooked…until an injury brings it to the forefront. Unlike most group fitness classes that leave stretching to the last 5 minutes, in Athletic Mobility you will flip that around and take care of all the muscles and joints that are overused, no matter what sport you enjoy. Whether you’re a cyclist or runner, play tennis or basketball, or spend most of your time in the weight room, this 45 minute workout will help you maximize your training and improve your performance.  Equipment, attire and intensity are similar to yoga.
